NHS & Private Dental Care

At Busby House Dental Centre you’ll find seamless, high‑quality dental care whether you’re accessing NHS treatment or opting for private services—each delivered by a friendly, fully qualified team dedicated to your oral health. From routine check‑ups to advanced cosmetic procedures, we combine state‑of‑the‑art technology with a patient‑first approach to keep every smile healthy and confident.

Private Dental Care

Private dental care offers more than essential treatment—it provides an appealing choice for those seeking greater flexibility, enhanced services, and a more personalised experience. While this level of care typically involves a higher fee, it needn’t be a barrier to accessing the care you want.

To help make private dentistry affordable and easy to manage, we also offer Membership Plans. These allow you to spread the cost through manageable monthly payments, helping you budget effectively without compromising on quality.

As a private patient, you can enjoy several distinct advantages:

  • Choice of dentist – whether you value a particular personality, specific qualifications or a preferred approach, you decide which of our private dentists you see.
  • A closer relationship – seeing the same dentist each time enables them to get to know you, help you feel relaxed and work with you to safeguard your long‑term oral health.
  • Greater flexibility and availability – booking appointments is easier and more adaptable to your schedule.
  • A wider range of treatment options – from preventive hygienist services to cosmetic procedures that enhance the appearance of your smile.

Important Notice for NHS Patients

  • If you haven’t visited the practice in the last two years, you will be marked as an inactive patient in our system.
  • NHS policy states that patients who miss two appointments will no longer be offered NHS treatment at our practice.

What we expect from you

  • We do not send reminders for appointments, and you are not obliged to tell us if you change dental practices.

Why is this happening

The UK is facing a nationwide shortage of NHS dentists – a situation worsened by the impacts of Brexit, COVID‑19, and a decline in new graduates entering the NHS. Many newly qualified dentists move quickly into private practice, and dental schools are not producing enough clinicians to meet NHS demand.

To keep our NHS service running, we have been recruiting dentists from abroad; however, the necessary immigration procedures are lengthy and have resulted in some appointment changes and cancellations.

Looking ahead

This challenge is common to dental practices across the country. We have been providing NHS care for over 30 years, and we remain committed to expanding our NHS team so that you can regain reliable access to treatment.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Busby House Dental Centre

Unfortunately, our NHS patient list is currently full and we are unable to accept any new patients for routine NHS care, including children and those exempt from charges.

However, we continue to welcome new private patients and offer flexible options to make dental care accessible, such as budget-friendly membership plans and finance arrangements.

Please contact our friendly team to book a private appointment or to learn more about our treatment fees and membership options.

For all existing NHS patients

We kindly ask all NHS dental patients to help us by attending all appointments, providing as much notice as possible if you need to cancel, and ensuring your contact details are current. Please also attend regular check-ups, aiming to see your dentist no longer than every two years.

We understand NHS appointments are in high demand, and apologise if we cannot always offer a time that suits you. Your cooperation helps us manage this service for everyone.
